Therese Hansen
US Liaison

"Leap and the net will appear"

That’s what Therese tells doctors as she urges them to take their talents to Africa! As our US liaison, Therese helped launch AHP in North America in September 2008. She expands our programme's reach at several target conferences each year, including the gatherings of family physicians, emergency physicians and internists. She is based in Seattle.  

Angela Vilakazi
Recruitment Coordinator

Angela manages the submission of compliant documentation to ensure successful processing of applications. She has extensive experience in the travel industry as a travel consultant and has worked for MSF where she coordinated events and performed HR administrative duties. 

Portia Harvey
Retention Administrator

"Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence" – Vince Combardi

Portia is the Retention Administrator. She provides administrative and logistical support to the Retention Manager. Portia comes to us with a wealth of experience in executive assistance and administration from organisations such as AURUM and Nestle LTD.

Retha Langa
Communications Manager

"Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally"

Retha is the Communications Manager at AHP. She strategically manages the marketing and communications of AHP to enable delivery of contractual obligations and building of new partner relationships. She also champions the AHP brand promise both internally and externally. She obtained her Honours degree in History at the University of the Witwatersrand and is currently busy with her PhD in Heritage. Prior to joining AHP she worked as a journalist for five years.

Jeannette Pritchard
Financial Controller

Jeanette is a Financial Controller at AHP. "The time I have spent working at the AHP office is truly a wonderful experience for me as the people surrounding me have given me a total feeling of peace. What makes my position worthwhile is being involved with such a challenging project."

Leigh Bennie
Recruitment Team Leader - GP Contracting Project

Leigh joins us as a Recruitment Team Leader for the GP Contracting Project. She effectively allocates and oversees activities of Recruitment Officers to meet contractual recruitment obligations. Leigh has extensive experience in media, reputation management and strategic communications after spending 10 years with Primedia Broadcasting. She is also an accredited conflict mediator and has lecturing experience.

Jolene Kloppers
Financial Accountant

Jolene is a Financial Accountant at AHP. She has over 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector and is currently studying towards her national diploma in financial accounting. 

Adwoa Kwarteng
Workforce Planning Manager

“Until the lion learns to speak, the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunter” 

Adwoa joins AHP as a Project Specialist: Workforce Planning. She is responsible for executing our workforce planning contracts. She will develop data collected by AHP's facility assessors into comprehensive workforce plans. Adwoa was previously a project manager at the African Leadership Network and a management consultant for Presscott Associates in the US. She has a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University in New York.

Thapi Mokose
Recruitment Officer

“You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should” - Max Ehrmann. 

Thapi recruits healthcare workers to meet the contractual obligations made to partners. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies and Industrial Sociology and a Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Labour and Development Sociology and Health Sociology, both obtained from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. After completing a learnership programme at the Cape Wine Academy, Thapi conducted research on the conditions of nursing in both public and private facilities using the Psychosocial environmental and Tannahill models.

Stacey Ann Pillay
Recruitment Manager

Stacey is AHP's Recruitment Manager. She effectively manages the recruitment team to recruit healthcare workers to meet the contractual obligations made to partners. AHP currently recruits both local and foreign-qualified healthcare workers for the public sector focusing on rural and underserved areas. 

Andy Ntokoane
Orientation Officer

Andy joins our Recruitment team as an Orientation Officer. He builds long-term, supportive relationships with healthcare workers and ensures AHP has an in-depth awareness of what is top of mind for health workers. Andy is studying towards his MSc in Maths and Economics at the University of Johannesburg.

Suzanne Fredericks
US Liaison

"There is only one way to succeed in anything, and that is to give it everything"  

Suzanne is AHP's US Liaison. She tells the AHP story in such a way that attracts funding and health workers. Suzie comes to us with extensive medical recruitment experience – she is currently a director and board member of the Idaho Osteopathic Physicians Association, and has most recently worked at the Holy Rosary Medical Centre as vice president of physician recruiting. She also has extensive experience in fundraising in the healthcare sector.

Mogomotsi Moiloa
Recruitment Coordinator

Mogomotsi is a Recruitment Coordinator. He manages the submission of compliant documentation to ensure successful processing of applications by regulatory bodies. Before joining AHP, Mogomotsi worked as an intern at the South African Police Services Employee Health and Wellness Office. He has an Honours degree in Psychology. 

Sipholile Dzimba
Retention Officer - Capricorn District

“What the mind can conceive, it can achieve”

Sipholile joins the Retention Team as a Retention Officer for Capricorn District. She positively affects the retention of healthcare workers to meet contractual obligations made to partners and is the single point of contact for AHP district activities. She comes to us from Akanani Consulting where she was an HR Consultant and project leader in human capital management projects. She has a degree in Human Resource Management and is busy with her Honours in Industrial Psychology. 

Vusani Tshivhase
Retention Officer - Bojanala

"It's not necessary to fear the prospect of failure but to be determined not to fail"

Vusani is a Retention Officer for the Bojanala district in the North West. She positively affects the retention of healthcare workers to meet contractual obligations made to partners and is the single point of contact for AHP district activities. Vusani completed a Masters in Public Health at the University of Georgia in the USA as a Fullbright Scholar. She joins us from Roswika Medical Supplies where she was a director.
